Each last Monday morning of the month, we'll get together for a rollicking good time, discussing books and eating bagels for brunch. Contact the Adult Services Department for more information. Pick up your copy of the book at the main desk on the first floor.

May's book is The Queen Mother by William Shawcross. Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon was born on August 4, 1900, and, certainly, no one could have imagined that her long life  would come to reflect a changing nation over the course of an entire century. Vividly detailed, written with unrestricted access to her personal papers, letters, and diaries, this candid royal biography by William Shawcross is also a singular history of Britain in the twentieth century.
